Dr. Orris is a licensed psychologist and the owner and Executive Director of the Orange County location of Evidence Based Therapy Partners. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Orris provides training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy to outside agencies, lectures at USC Keck School of Medicine, UCI Medical Center and Alliant Universities. Dr. Orris is a clinical faculty member at University of California, Irvine and speaks regularly at professional conferences, including the International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of DBT. (ISITDBT) Dr. Orris is a consultant on the Los Angeles County DBT Roll Out (LACRODBT) and a trainer/consultant with the Treatment Implementation Collaborative. She is certified in DBT by the Linehan Board of Certification and is a Diplomate with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
Dr. Orris is trained in a number of evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Dr. Orris has over 15 years of clinical experience and is skilled in treating a wide range of presenting problems. Her clinical specializations include parenting difficulties, self -injury, suicidal thinking and behavior, emotion dysregulation, post traumatic stress, borderline personality disorder, and eating disorders.
Dr. Orris received her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Boston college, where she was trained in trauma specific interventions by Linda Sanford, MSW. She spent the next several years working in residential treatment for adolescents and adults with self-harming and suicidal behavior, eating disorders, and posttraumatic stress. Dr. Orris earned her PsyD in 2010, with a research focus on sex trafficking in India. Dr. Orris completed psychological externships in Neuropsychology at UCI (pediatric) and UCLA (adult). Dr. Orris completed an APA-accredited internship and two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Casa Pacifica, a residential treatment center for adolescents. During that time, Dr. Orris developed and implemented the Dialectical Behavior Therapy program and trained clinical and program staff in this modality.
